Pierluca Cetera’s paintings, rendered in oil on velvet, portray human fragments—hands, faces, and other bodily details—that evoke a dimension both intimate and universal. Through gestures and facial expressions, these portrayed fragments suggest an imminent action, a suspended moment that forebodes an inner transformation. Velvet, a material historically associated with the theater, introduces a conceptual link with gesture, expression, and the movement of the body. Its iridescent surface, shifting according to the light, emphasizes the painted parts, bestowing upon them a luminous quality akin to sacred icons.
The choreography of the OPERABIANCO performers consists of trios, duets, and solos organized transitionally within the space of Palazzo Lucarini. The audience moves freely through the gallery rooms. Dance becomes a junction between the spectator and the work, making the experience of viewing the painting both physical and sensitive. The artworks and performers engage in an aesthetic dialogue: from the stillness and bidimensionality of the large painted figures to the kinetics and tridimensionality of the performers, dance becomes an exploration of a possible body spirituality in which the skin is the privileged organ of sensory expansion.
