Fabio Ciccalè
Fabio Ciccalè is a dancer and choreographer. He graduated in Painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Macerata and subsequently from the School of Acting, Dance and Singing “E. Cecchetti” in Civitanova Marche, training under teachers S. Marconi, F. Ferrarone, D. Bertozzi, G. Summo, and M. Pia D’Urso. He deepened his studies through numerous workshops and masterclasses with R. Garrison, A. Peck, R. Kovic, P. Doussaint, A. Borriello, R. Castello, R. Giordano, G. Rossi, M. Francia, J.Y. Ginoux, E. Braun, S. Petronio, R. Warshaw, A.L. Harwood, E. Corbet, D. Zambrano, F. Faust, J. Jasperse, and M. Tompkins. He has worked as a performer for several Italian companies, including Compagnia Alhena (Pescara), Compagnia Enzo Cosimi (Rome), Compagnia La Bilancia Produzioni (Rome), Compagnia Nuova Euroballetto (Rome), and Compagnia Giuseppina Von Bingen (Rome). Since 2002 he has created choreographies and danced for the company FC@PIN.D’OC, now PinDoc, of which he is associate choreographer. Among his works: Compatibilmente (sé) (2002), Profonde superfici (2003), Avverse reazioni 2.0, N.E.K. nessun effetto kollaterale (2004), In pectore, Full Total, Castrum Live (2005), Count Down (2006), Extra Composta (2007), Horror Vacui (2008), Estatica Attitudine, Free Lux Dei (2009), Geneticamente Chic (2010), Refugium Peccatorum (2013), Indaco (2015), (E+E)² (2018). In November 2010 he collaborated with Roberto Castello (Compagnia Aldes) on the creation and performance of the choreographies for the television programme “Vieni via con me” by Fabio Fazio and Roberto Saviano, broadcast on Rai 3. His work has been presented at numerous festivals and showcases: Nuovi Movimenti (Catania), Around Twenty (Brescia), Pozzo degli angeli – Danza da bruciare (Roma), Che danza vuoi? (Roma), Lavori in pelle (Alfonsine – Ravenna), Body Shot (Roma), Danze barbariche (Roma), Danza contemporanea al Vascello (Roma). In 2008 he took part in D10 – Spazi per la danza contemporanea at the Teatro Furio Camillo (Rome), an inter-regional project involving Lazio, Piedmont, and Campania, promoted by MIBAC and ETI. In 2009 he was a guest of Civitanova Danza Tutto l’Anno (Civitanova Marche), Uscite d’emergenza (Milan), and Short Format (Milan). In 2010 he was invited to SPAM – Spazio Performativo (Lucca) as part of the DA.TO – Danza in Toscana project, to the Piattaforma Coreografica in Turin, to the showcase A piede libero (Mogliano Veneto), to the event Dinamiche dal Core at the Teatro Palladium (Rome), and to the Opere Festival at the Castello Odescalchi in Bracciano. He was also selected for two creative residencies within the Officina Coreografica della Regione Lazio, in 2010 and 2013. More recent productions include “Canto Pop” (2020), “Volevo essere gli dei” (2023), and “Piccola Antologia Semiseria della Morte”, which will premiere in 2026 at Spazio Rossellini in Rome in collaboration with ATCL – Circuito Teatrale dei Comuni del Lazio.
