FIRST AND SECOND CLOWN is a work about language. The first video is a dialogue with words: we constructed a form to interrogate the literality, the etymology, and the rhythm of Shakespeare’s words. The second video looks again at Shakespeare: it expands the field and reflects on the comic. Using the same form as the first experiment, we asked a philosopher to perform, engaging in dialogue with his own thoughts.
Alongside the content, we experience these works as portraits of two men.
PHANTASMATA is a video work that uses choreographic scores related to the JUMP! project, filmed at a time when physical contact was impossible: one performer at a time moves as if another body was present with him. The editing overlays the videos of the different performers who, through transparency, return to being together, with a shift in synchronicity and a crossing of masses that makes clear the absence of real contact.
